Betrayed by her evil sister Ravenna (Charlize Theron), heartbroken Freya (Emily Blunt) retreats to a northern kingdom to raise an army of huntsmen as her protectors. Gifted with the ability to freeze her enemies in ice, Freya teaches her young soldiers to never fall in love.
When Eric (Chris Hemsworth) and fellow warrior Sara defy this rule, the angry queen does whatever she can to stop them. As war between the siblings escalates, Eric and Sara unite with Freya to end Ravenna’s wicked reign.

“The Chairman” – The Huntsman is an illustration of what is wrong with Hollywood today, an excellently mixed trailer with a great song tying everything together beautifully…but the movie is a meteoric drop in quality and expectation. An extreme misuse of Charlize’s Evil Queen, a well-rounded villain, with clear motivations and brilliantly acted. What an utter waste!
I actually felt a sorry for the actors that were in this mess, which by all standards are great, but then I remembered they got paid for this rubbish and my pity quickly changed to anger. Don’t watch this, ever. 4.5/10
“That Nomad Shad” – Boy was I excited for this one! After trashing Kristen Stewart for the likes of Emily Blunt and Jessica Chastain, this was bound to have some promise…right?! Wrong! The film is a generic copy/paste of every adventure film. It doesn’t even try to be clever or unique in anyway; the film is just bland!
Oh wait, its got Jessica Chastain and Emily Blunt, that’s got to count for something…IT HAS TO!!! Nope, nope, nope, nope. Both these actresses lack any semblance of enthusiasm. Ugh…it’s an annoying waste of any acting talent. Did they know what they signed up for? Did they do it just for the paycheck?
The film isn’t terrible though… it’s just plain average. There is nothing that makes the film stand out in anyway. There are no moments that stand out and make you go “That’s pretty cool”. It’s all just too generic for my liking. This is one I’d save for when you have absolutely nothing better to do. 5/10
“IT” – This movie is the epitome of cliche. From the beginning to the end, you can see everything coming. It’s the prequel to Snow White and the Huntsman and a third installment, all in one. I wasn’t expecting anything, but the mediocrity that was shown. Most disappointing is the fact that they don’t overcompensate with a shirtless Chris Hemsworth. Ugh.
The best thing about this movie is Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen, Emily Blunt as The Ice Queen and the humourous dwarfs. I’m not a huge fan of Jessica Chastain, I think she’s overrated, which is obvious in this film. She is the Kristen Stewart of The Huntsman, an intolerable protagonist that’s always overshadowed by better and stronger performances by other actors. 4/10
