Julie, Kayla and Sam are three high school seniors who make a pact to lose their virginity on prom night. Lisa, Mitchell and Hunter are three overprotective parents who flip out when they find out about their daughters’ plans. They soon join forces for a wild and chaotic quest to stop the girls from sealing the deal — no matter what the cost

Review

“The Chairman” – I was very intrigued by BLOCKERS after seeing the trailer, seemed like the raunchy pre-Summer comedy I would be interested in. I am pleased to say that I was not disappointed, gag-jokes and the general parental awkwardness is played up just right.

Blockers reminded me of Project X, a raunchy comedy set over one crazy night. This technique works to the benefit of the movie as the characters are rather vapid and generic.

John Cena needs to stop being cast in these “against-type” roles, sometimes he can just play a musclebound man without a sensitive side as Leslie Mann brings enough emotion to a movie. A performance to look out for is Ike Barinholtz, he is a great character actor who gets his chance to shine with his character, in particular, realising the most complete story.

Blockers is a great night out with laughs throughout, however you don’t a great story tying this all together. 6.5/10
