Review

“The Chairman” – Going into the sixth instalment of a franchise there is a tendency for things to become stale. This is where the Mission: Impossible franchise sets itself apart. Fallout is a triumph for the franchise. It calls back to the previous instalments, but does not exclude anyone new to the series.

So many different genres are satisfied here, Thriller, Action and Spy/Espionage and this can only be achieved with great directing, writing, acting and stunt choreography. I have to give a shout out to the score here, Lorne Balfe does an incredible job. Sometimes scores can be overbearing, but your heart will be racing when it is necessary and really get pulled you into feeling all the bumps and bruises.

Tom Cruise is truly awesome. He pushes the idea of what an A-list actor is meant to do in order to make the movie feel as realistic as possible. The man still does his own stunts at his age, do I need to say more.

Now to the really important question, was Henry Cavill’s moustache worth all the fuss? Short answer, YES! Long answer, it reinforces his bad-ass character!

Please go out and see this movies, this is what cinema is meant for. See it on the biggest screen possible. 8.5/10
