Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – Review

The surviving Resistance faces the First Order once more as Rey, Finn and Poe Dameron’s journey continues. With the power and knowledge of generations behind them, the final battle commences.

Review

“The Chairman” -Yet another movie which is incredibly difficult to review without spoiling every single plot point and twists. But, as always I am here to tell you, the adoring public, whether or not the movie is worth watching and I give The Rise of Skywalker a resounding YES!

The Rise of Skywalker (like Return of the Jedi) is set sometime after the second instalment. Rey has developed into a powerful Jedi under the training of Leia. Finn has moved up in the ranks of the Resistance and Po is starting to trust the people around him to assist him with making the hard choices.

I personally loved The Last Jedi, and while The Rise of Skywalker doesn’t completely dismiss the event of the second instalment, it is a return to the “traditional” Star Wars narrative. This may upset a few people, but it doesn’t take away from what this movie is trying to deliver.

It isn’t perfect but I wasn’t expecting it to be. Go out and see this on the biggest screen possible. 7.5/10

PS. This saga isn’t entirely about the Skywalker family. There is a character that has been there since the beginning and casts a large shadow over this whole saga and this is resolved very nicely.
