Birds of Prey – “Learning to Fly”

A twisted tale told by Harley Quinn herself, when Gotham’s most nefariously narcissistic villain, Roman Sionis, and his zealous right-hand, Zsasz, put a target on a young girl named Cass, the city is turned upside down looking for her. Harley, Huntress, Black Canary and Renee Montoya’s paths collide, and the unlikely foursome have no choice but to team up to take Roman down.

Review

Bird of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of one Harley QUINN is the eighth and latest entry into DCEU. Despite being flawed, it proves that Warner are learning from their mistakes by producing one of their most entertaining films to date.

  1. A fun, zany film that is just like its main character. It’s colorful, bright and gloriously violent. At times it feels so chaotic just like its title character but it is never without direction. It’s a win for an all-woman creative team.

DC is known for not doing ensemble films well, but this is their best one yet. In their defense, it’s difficult to make a film with ‘new’ characters for an audience that may not know them. And I’ll say this film does a pretty good job of introducing them with getting lost in the back streets of Gotham.

To sum up: if this is how men feel walking out of a superhero movie then no wonder they made so many of them.
