Street-smart Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) is recruited by seasoned treasure hunter Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to recover a fortune amassed by Ferdinand Magellan and lost 500 years ago by the House of Moncada.

What starts as a heist job for the duo becomes a globe-trotting, white-knuckle race to reach the prize before the ruthless Santiago Moncada (Antonio Banderas), who believes he and his family are the rightful heirs. If Nate and Sully can decipher the clues and solve one of the world’s oldest mysteries, they stand to find $5 billion in treasure and perhaps even Nate’s long-lost brother…but only if they can learn to work together.

“The Chairman” – Let me start off by saying that I am unfamiliar with the Uncharted gaming franchise (please don’t stone me), so I went into this on a pure movie-going experience and I can confirm that this is by some distance the worst movie Tom Holland has associated himself with.

WOW, utter trash is putting it mildly.

This movie makes the National Treasure franchise look grounded and high-brow, actually the plot and set pieces will insult your intelligence worse than the recent Fast & Furious movies.

I had my concerns about the quality of the movie when I saw the cast, but this was tempered to some degree after the first trailer (it’s the hope that gets you every time).

Hear me out on the casting, I like Mark Wahlberg and he definitely has value in playing characters with a “heart of gold” or a “tough guy” but he cannot plausibly play a character with deep far-reaching and complicated plans. This is totally unbelievable! You would think people would’ve learnt their lesson after him playing a robot inventor in world of Transformers.

There’s zero chemistry between the cast, whether it be potential brotherhood of Sully & Nate or the romance of Nate & Chloe. Poor Antonio Banderas showed up to the wrong damn movie, he is actually good and his character has clear motives (what a waste!).

Finally, if Uncharted has been in some sort of production since 2016 I am dumbfounded that the script & plot are all over the place. It’s bad, it’s terrible.

DON’T WATCH THIS! 4/10

PS, I didn’t know that if you slit someone’s throat that this will give you access to their bank account. Good to know.
