Since its announcement, I’ve been keeping a close eye on Sea of Solitude. I liked its visual presentation and the premise of overwhelming loneliness turning people into monsters sounded incredibly interesting. I knew it was something I wanted to play.
Now in 2019, Sea of Solitude is here. It features an interesting narrative about a young woman named Kay who is turned into a monster. She awakens in a metaphorical world where other people have also turned into monsters after being enveloped by their loneliness.
The game hits some highs and lows here and there, both in its story and gameplay, which holds it back from being truly great.
